DAILY LOOK
Herkese merhaba,
Hello everyone, This time, we wondered: what if we did a shoot featuring the outfits I wear in my daily life—looks put together from my own wardrobe? You know, without preparing anything elaborate—just wearing whatever was at hand that day and heading out 🙂 We decided to keep our hair and makeup natural, just as we wear them every day. It was as if we wanted to see ourselves through an outside perspective. How true to ourselves can we remain while global trends shift constantly—and at a pace we can barely keep up with? While working on this project, we were reminded of Donald Winnicott’s concepts of the “true self” and “false self”—ideas that perfectly capture the thoughts and feelings we were experiencing regarding the conflict between the two. While the “false self” represents a protective shell formed by societal norms, the “true self” is the state of simply existing as one truly is: spontaneous and authentic. Over time, the persona adapts to an imposed identity. Yet, the individual cannot fully silence their inner voice and never stops asking themselves: “Who were you before the world told you who you should be?” Have you ever asked yourself this? And to what extent are you able to preserve your true identity? This time, I leave you with these question 🙂 Stay well. ❤
